I recently registered a new EU domain name. I noticed that its detailed whois data on EURid site has different fields than my "old" EU domain.

Namely, the old domain has a section called "Registrar technical contacts", whereas the new one has "Registrant technical contacts". At my first glance (before actually reading section headings ) I thought the new registration just didn't implement the registrar's privacy/proxy features, and only after checking the headings I noticed this "slight" difference.

What's the reason for this? Some new policy that only applies to newly registered domains perhaps?

Yes, it may be due to new policy. There is "Registrant" in some domains who is info. These domain are 2 year old.

registrant technical contact is some as "admin contact"
registrar technical contact is some as "tech contact"

some registrars use a registrar technical contact, and some registrars use a registrant technical contacts ... it is options for registrars

So it has nothing to do with EURid policy, but only means that InternetBS (the registrar) changed their options some time in the last two years?

yes, EURID nothing change in their contact types. This change is in your registrar.
