Question

Question: 2 domain names, 1 email account?

Hi all,
Just had a quick and possibly trivial question regarding domain and webmail configuration.

Basically I have a primary domain registered that all of my mailboxes are linked up to but have since registered the same domain but with a different extension and added it as a parked domain. How do I make emails going to x@x.org goto x@x.com by default? Is this possible even if the .org mailbox doesn't exist? Would like to just share the extensions on the mailboxes.

Hope this makes sense!

Cheers,

Liam

Hey Liam,

You should be able to simply forward the .ORG email address to the .COM - assuming you do not wish to reply from the .ORG domain since it is not your primary. What email service are you using?

Oh really? That would be great - would that require me duplicating all my mailboxes though? We are using cPanel X

From your cPanel interface you should have the option to configure Email Forwarding using the following steps.
  1. From the main cPanel interface click Forwarders (looks like an envelope with a green arrow)
  2. Click "Add Domain Forwarder"
  3. Select your domain from the dropdown
  4. Click "Add Domain Forwarder"

During this set up you should see additional information on how the email forwarding works. Hope this helps!
