HostName resolved issue

Hey, i got a problem for the life of me i cannot fix. I have setup everything correctly DNS A entry etc.... Iv even had this double checked 3 times to make sure it was setup correctly and it IS done right yet i keep receiving this cpanel error. Any suggestions on how i can fix this.

Cpanel here below:
Your hostname (xxx) could not be resolved to an IP address. This
means that /etc/hosts is not set up correctly, and/or there is no
dns entry for xxx. Please be sure that the contents of /etc/hosts
are configured correctly, and also that there is a correct 'A'
entry for the domain in the zone file.

Thanks

Post the contents of /etc/hosts ... besides a localhost entry there should be something to the effect of:

SERVER.IP SERVER.HOSTNAME SERVERNAME

Example:

4.2.2.2 server32.pie.com server32

First, make sure that the hostname really resolves to the server's ip (test with nslookup). Second, check the resolver config. Third, check the /etc/hosts file to make sure that the ip & hostname are listed properly. That's pretty much it.... Then you can type the following to test it: /scripts/ipcheck
