Hey, I was wondering about server4you's dedicated server they seem to be cheap I was wondering if it was possible for me to get windows 2003/2008 in their server do they install it for you or anything?

It is an OS so they will install it for you I believe as long as you purchase the license from them.

They do not install anything for you, its 100% self managed.

HOW EVER they do give you options to self install it though a web based interface.

Just note server4you is 100% self managed, they have very limited tech support.

The do not offer a base install, once you get the server you choose what you want to put on it. According to their site Windows 2008 RC2 is one of the OS's you can install automatically.

Looks like they will install it for you, it's advertised on their website as +$15/m.
Upgrades are expensive though, even Reverse DNS is $+7,50/m per IP.
The servers are actually located in Strasbourg, France and not Germany if that makes a difference.

Thanks for the information about this company. I think being 100% self managed even allowing you to install the OS yourself is kind of a neat way to go about selling dedicated servers. It gives the person who purchased the server the ability to customize and configure right from the start instead of having to reconfigure what the base install was on the OS load initially. May actually even allow you to receive your server faster this way
