reselling for enom... pricing levels?
If I become an enom reseller, can I personally purchase my own domains at my net cost?
And can I provide temporary "promotional" pricing, or even use coupon codes to give certain customers, or promotionally, better-than-normal pricing by entering a code or going to a private link?
These questions may seem stupid, but I am trying to be safe before investing in an enom relationship. I was all set to go to godaddy's wildwestdomains as a reseller until I found they CAN NOT allow the above to be done. (And I really dont like their "profit sharing" on top of taking an annual fee)
Thank you
Eric

Yes. (You have to fund your account first though)

Well, you can set the prices for each sub-account if that is what you mean...

What I meant was for sales I make.. lets say as an example I market to school TEACHERS as a target audience... If i wanted to let teachers register a domain name, could they enter a promo code or go to a special link I set up just for teachers to get discounted pricing?
Or so that I can give discounted registrations to existing clients... that kind if thing is what I am asking if is possible.
Also can you manually (through a control panel) enter domain registrations and renewals on behalf of clients that you do business with face-to-face? These are features I have seen with directi that I really like alot.
Thanks again
Eric

You should be able to do manual registrations and renewals. The best way would be to fund your account first and use those funds to purchase/renew the domain. You have the option of creating a retail subaccount for your customer and pushing the domain to it. But, if you want to renew a domain that's in the retail subaccount, then I think it would have to be pushed to your reseller account first, you do the renewal, then push it back to their retail account.
As for promotional pricing or coupons - one thing enom lacks with their RR interface is an easy way to give discounts on multi-year registrations. If you use retail subaccounts, then you can specify the renewal price for each account and change them at will. If using RR, you can create multiple links with different prices for registration. You could then create a form to take a coupon code and upon submit with a proper code route it to the RR link with your coupon pricing, otherwise route it to the RR link with the regular pricing. You could also restrict access to the discount link by placing the discount link on a password protected web page.

A number of ways to do this:
1) Use the API to create your own registration site
2) Use "registryrocket" links (perhaps framed) and only give that URL to the people you wish to offer the promotion link to. eNom doesn't charge anything for RegistryRocket and lets you create as many as you like.
3) You *can* renew domain names in retail subaccounts while they remain in the account. You cannot in reseller subaccounts. You can also set custom pricing for a specific account.

You can create different Registry Rocket links with different prices, then advertise the Registry Rocket links to your target.

hmmm.. is THAT good or bad??
I was looking at enoms site a bit closer and it seems you need to spend $99 per year to get the ability to have enom bill for you and provide all the "free" services that enom has to offer.
So, if I do NOT want to process payments myself, and if I DO want to offer all the nifty free enom add-ons, RR is not for me and I will have to spend $99 per year for pdq... correct?
So can pdq do all the pricepoints etc as RR is described as being able to do above? Or would I need multiple $99 pdq accounts just to do this?
Thanks Again
Eric

Wrong. Registry Rocket will process your payments for you.
One thing RR won't do, however, is give you clients access to the website builder thingy.
With PDQ you can change the pricing for the account of someone you want to offer lower prices to. With RR you can send them a different RR link.

But you can create a retail subaccount for someone who registered through RR and push their account there and allow them to access that retail subaccount. You can set the pricing on that account to what you want and they can also have access to the website builder thingy.
