Hi what are some of the cheapest yet reliable VPS providers? I am currently hosted with a sister company of Carat Network called UBHosting and during the past few months their customer support has gone down the drain so I am looking for a switch.

I don't really need much space or BW, I run OpenVPN on the server so don't need anything fancy either, probably 128 MB or 256 MB RAM would do, with 3-5 GB space and 25-50 GB bandwidth would be perfect.

Although I require a Toronto or Ontario host because I need a Toronto or Ontario IP, a Montreal / Quebec based hosting will also suffice if I can't find a Toronto or Ontario based cheap host.

How much would you think I'd be looking at spending for such specification?

Recommendations for the host, thanks in advance!

Have you searched the offers forum?

You are not going to find a CHEAP and RELIABLE provider. It's either more expensive and reliable or cheap and unreliable like the host you are with now. Spend the extra few bucks and you can avoid the frustrations.

I believe site5 has VPS's in Toronto you might want to check them out.

I had been with Carat too, I knew what you are talking about.

In terms of looking for a new VPS in Toronto, give Amanah tech a try. They are in Toronto, You may want to check out my review about their Toronto dedicated server. They also offer VPS hosting. Search "Amanah VPS" in the forum will lead you to there.

Be sure to try the Find A Host option as well and see what kind of offers you get. Best of luck! There are definitely many good options in Toronto.

Site5 is way over my budget and I have sent an email to Amanah for a VPS quote, that was yesterday and still no reply from that. Let's see when I get a reply from them.

Ultrahosting.com offers Toronto area VPS, I used them for dedicated servers in the past and they were good.

Yep we have them in Toronto, Montreal or Vancouver. All Xen based but not cheap.
