Do you have a dedicated server or a VPS?
What OS and control panel do you have?
If you just have a "normal" hosting account you will not be able to setup a minecraft server.

If you have hosting on a shared server you will not be able to set up a minecraft server.
You need a fairly good VPS or dedicated server.

If you do not know how to set it up, don't bother as you won't be able to manage it with updates etc.
You could rent a dedicated server from a GSP and they will help you.█ | AuzzHosting - Coming soon!

Then I suggest you learn before doing it, it can be very tricky if you do not understand it.
Read the link above - that may help.
Without knowing how to do stuff, it will ruin you if you are selling to clients.

if you are going to host a serious server like that playing around learning how to set it up will help you learn how to manage it
Currently hosting with SolidShellSecurity.com && awknet.com
-- I give them both 10/10 ratings for support, uptime, fast servers, security and quality services =)
I do freelance programming, server management, and web design work. =)
