WiredTree! Dos Protection is Rubbish
The Dos Attack started sometime last night on my server and it is still happening. Its really annoying because all they can do is null routed which means I can not use anything. So if you want good Dos protection stay clear of wiredtree.I have no idea why my 2 sites are been targeted.Anyhow I am moving over to hostdime who I know I will be in good hands with.I know that have RioRey. It looks to me that wiredtree have nothing in place.Anyhow I am looking forward to moving over to hostdime.Just thought I would post this I like wiredtree I just don't understand why they don't have better Dos protection in place.

See attachment... They never advertised to keep you online during an attack, so I'm surprised that you expect them to do so.

RioRey or not, if you're getting hit by large attacks they won't be keen to keep you.
You should probably look into DDoS protected services.

It's not something you can expect, because it would affect their whole network. Unless they actually offer it.
HostDime has been great against DDoS attacks for me, I recommend them!

Can you explain why BuyVM/Frantech are 'bad' companies. As I'm sure you are aware saying such without providing backup for your claim is also known as 'slander'. You should probably link to your basis that they are bad if you're planning on keeping that signature.

Agreed, and that topic was also discussed in more detail here:

I did not ask them because I did not even know I was being dos, so I had no reason to ask them.

What are the options for a provider who has a client under DOS attacks? To my knowledge black holing the IP is just a measure to salvage some bandwidth, and you'd want to do that as far upstream as possible.
If it is *you* and not your IP who is being targeted then it will just follow you wherever you go, and it seems finding a provider who does offer DDOS protection, as advised in this thread, would be better than switching providers every so often.
I'll never forget the time I was working at a client's site when a DSL customer brought down the network because of dos. It is never fun..

RioRey filters traffic, it does not prevent your host paying for the traffic. While it is a neat bit of kit, it's only viable in use if the host has spare bandwidth that they would be paying for regardless.
That is why DDoS protected solutions generally cost an arm and a leg - you're paying for the bandwidth so as your host can keep you.
