Vito Ceniti has passed away.
I have just received an email that Vito Ceniti has passed away. He has been a great person and a stand-up guy, a man of his word and was one of the first few people that I have met in person in the web hosting industry. He was also the guy that I would often seek advice and feedback from on any of the new projects I've worked on. In spite of the health issues, he has always remained strong minded and dedicated to his family and his work.
Most people here would know him as the founder of DemoDemo, which pioneered flash tutorials for web hosts.
It is a sad day not just for me but for many people who had the pleasure of knowing Vito. My heart is heavy and my thoughts are with his young daughter, may she find the strength to carry on... REST IN PEACE, V.

Haven't the opportunity to meet him, but it's always sad leaving those ones we love. Hope the family and you can keep up these hard days, and wish you all to also keep the good moments you've had in mind to surpass it all.
My condolences!

I've had the pleasure of being a friend, colleague and confidant of Vito's since almost the very day I became a part of the hosting industry. Just last year, he entertained me and my wife at his house one afternoon (he cooked osso bucco from scratch - the man was Italian to his core). He was one of the most gentle, kind, giving men I've ever known. More than anything, I don't think I know another human being with a level of personal, moral and professional integrity that even comes to approaching his. If everyone treated everyone else the way Vito treated others, the world would be an infinitely better place to live.
He has always been very private about issues related to his health and his personal well being. I don't know how many people are aware of his circumstances, but I feel quite confident in saying he would not want those issues to survive him as his legacy, particularly since there is so much good in him that should be carried on. His passing may be a great surprise to some and less of a surprise to others, but his struggles are a moot now, and they have never overshadowed his selfless nature and desire to good to others, particularly his daughter, who he loved with every fiber of his being.
Those who never knew Vito will never fully appreciate how great a loss this is. Those who know him will miss him greatly, and his family is in our thoughts and prayers.

So this is true. Really sad. I only have some brief interaction with Vito when I "joined the group" (in his words, of him, Aussie Bob and a few others who were viciously attacked here by a rogue member) back in 2005, and he offered some very good advice and kind words. I thought about connecting with him again when I started using social media more seriously a while back but never did. Well ...

Vito, you will be missed. I'll never forget the evening you entertained me and many others in your own home. As I sat there thousands of miles away from home, watching your daughter play the piano who it was clear you loved so much, you made me feel at ease and welcome.
I feel honoured that I was one of those you confided in during your time of ill health, and as others have said before me I can only reference your selfless attitude to life, your dedication to others and your personal integrity as by far the best assets you contained within. You taught me, and you taught many others, and I'm certain you will continue to do so.
Rest in peace, my friend. I'll never forget how hard you tried to understand my "thick English accent". I'll miss you. I've always missed you, ever since that evening in your home.

Gah.. All the old hosting guys I know are dropping like flys. This is not cool
Myself and Vito have had pretty harsh words in the past. But he ended up being a really stand up guy more recently. He was my role model, when I turned my business around a few years ago and actually took it seriously.
RIP Friend.
