Hosting Renewal Coming Soon
I currently have sites with 3 different hosting accounts and 2 of them are coming up for renewal soon and I was wondering if I should move and stay where I am at.
One of the accounts is with Ipage.com and the other is with BlueHost. To be honest I have never really had any problems with either accept that Ipage does not support cron jobs. I own about 50 domain names between the 3 different hosting accounts.
I used these accounts for affiliate marketing and I also host my Brick and Mortar company websites on these domains.
Ipage has 22 domains using 600 mb of disk space and the monthly bandwith averages about 1 gb.
Bluehost has 23 domains using 540 mb of disk space and the monthly bandwith is about the same 1gb
Basshost is hosting 3 domains with limited bandwith. If things do not get better here quick I will be leaving this hosting. I should have never joined when I noticed they do not have telephone support.
I am really looking to consolidate all accounts in one central location. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Moving them to 1 provider has its pros and cons depending on what your websites are.
Check the offers section for some good deals!

Should be reasonable for most shared hosts. Think about budget and location and contact their pre-sales support first.

Bluehost and iPage are the same host: EIG.
I'd look to use a reseller account from Stablehost or Stream101.
If cost is the primary concern, you may be able consolidate to a single shared account (instead of reseller), making everything an add-on domain, but I generally suggest against that many domains in a single account. It's a security risk, because all domains are housed in a single user account. One hack can kill them all. With a reseller account, with separate users for each one, there is more isolation. The only downside is you cannot grab a single backup in one click -- you'll have to repeat for each domain. But I'd prefer that most times.

Really who is EIG?
I will also say that neither of the function the same way I find this very interesting.
Thanks

Honestly 1 solid shared plan will be good enough for the accounts. Unless your brick and mortar business has mission critical needs for online visitors. Then I would say perhaps keep that separate for redundant purposes.

So you need 2gb with less than 5gb bandwidth. A shared hosting with a decent provider should do the trick. Check the offers section.

Same host, but different platform (cPanel vs vDeck). If I were forced to choose between the two brands, I would go for BlueHost.

I would bet that, eventually, Bluehost would dump the paid cPanel for the free in-house vDeck.
We'll see what happens.

Is there anywhere a list (maintained by EIG) of all the brands they own? I've looked and looked, but... I've found a fair few lists others have thrown up on their blogs etc., but it's hard to verify those.

We are working on it. This month our cka4 server has gone to sh!t. You will be on a new server by the end of today ... I promise you and everything will be fine.
There will be a fairly long newsletter going out at the end of this month ... which will explain a lot.
I will also get a phone support department set up by the end of May.

I don't know if it lists all of their brands, but the BBB lists quite a few: http://www.bbb.org/boston/business-r...gton-ma-76863/

It's EIG's proprietary control panel. Up until a couple of years ago, all hosts that they acquired underwent a migration to it (with serious pains for the customers). Truth be told, many of their acquisitions were using their own proprietary control panels, and their continual maintenance and development probably made little sense.

Moving them to 1 host would mean you could manage your portfolio easier. But to transfer all the domains over will be somewhat of a nightmare due to downtime. It takes up to 48 hours for domains to transfer and if your sites have frequent visitors, they do get antzy! But once its all one and dealt with you can manage things better, domains, payments, etc. Hope you the best!

Just out of curiosity, did everything get better for you? Was thinking about switching to them, but I realize that there site has some conflicts with it... and I've heard some bad things about it over the past couple months, but they have good deals.....
Any advice?
