Searching for solid European Hosting
Hey,
I've been on a search for a great solid european host.
I am looking into running a VMware ESXi5 or some sort of virtualization, so I require say:
* Quadcore
* 8-16 gigs of ram
* 2x1tb hdds (hardware raid)
* 100mbit uplink port
* Unmetered traffic or 10tb
* /28 or /27 subnet
Anyone good any companies they could recommend?

I live in Faroe Islands, and most customers are from here aswell.
Faroe Islands has got submarines going directly to Iceland, Shetland/Scotland and UK mainland. We've got 3 PoP's in UK in total. Peering directly TDC and DTAG (Deutsche Telekom) and ofcourse, Telia and Cogent aswell.
Most of Europe is less than 10-15 hops and ~50ms away.
As for LeaseWeb, I think this might be a good choice, since they peer with Telia and DTAG.
I just made a traceroute to them, and I go over London via Telia, so thats great!
However, most of the external traffic goes via UK, so UK might eventually be the better choice.

A lot of our traffic goes that way on FARICE also. There are certainly a lot of good providers in the UK, and your latency to London I'm guessing would be maybe only 25 ms (ours is under 40, so yours must be quite a bit less).
Is there a particular latency target you are trying to meet?Advania Thor Data Centre Iceland - www.thordc.com
