Blocking DNS in WHM for resellers

I've setup a reseller in WHM. I customized what parts of WHM they should have access to and it all works correctly when they login, but there is a section for them to control DNS. How can I block that?

Also, is there a way to keep them from customizing accounts they setup and only use 'packaged' accounts?

Oh.. reminds me of a 3rd question
Is there a way to have WHM send me a msg letting me know a reseller activated an account?

Robin

Uncheck "Add Domains", "Edit DNS Entries", and "Delete Domains".

Select "Limit by Account Type", enter the number of accounts for each type, and uncheck "Account Modification".

In the left-hand navigation, click on "Edit Setup", then scroll down to "Server Contact's E-Mail Address" and enter the email address where you want to receive the notifications.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for your help.

The first part about DNS... I do have edit dns entries and delete domains UNCHECKED, but it still gives him the DNS options. I have add domains CHECKED.... isn't that what gives them the option to turn on accounts? If that's checked is that what's giving them the DNS options?

Thanks for the other answers too. It seems obvious now.. I just over looked it

related whm question

In the reseller configuration, there are places for nameservers. What is this for? Would this be to aliase the name servers attached to this box with a domain of the reseller?

Checking "Add Domains" allows your resellers to park domains and add DNS zones. Your resellers will still be able to create accounts as long as you have "Account Creation" turned on.

You can place your resellers' personal nameservers in there (if you've created them for your resellers) so that when they use WHM to setup accounts for their clients, these accounts automatically use those personal nameservers.

These can be left blank if your resellers are simply using your default nameservers.

If there was just a manual for WHM!

Ok.. got it.. uncheck add domains. It just seemed logical that add domains went along with add accounts.. but now I seeing it in print it makes sense what each does. Man.. and I thought I had a good bit of this stuff figured out already

So, got one more 'clueless' question.... if I were to create name servers for a reseller do I use 'add dns zone' and then enter them in the resellers section?

Sorry for this handholding.. i do appreciate your time.

Here is a rundown of what to do to add resellers in WHM

You would go to edit resellers and at the very bottom you will see where to add nameservers for this reseller, so lets say he/she wants ns.name.com and ns2.name.com , for the primary name sever you would put ns.name.com and for the secondary name server you would put ns2.name.com and hit save.

Now pick any 2 ips off the server as long as they are not allready used for name servers then go to edit dns then pick the account for this reseller, once in the edit screen first thing is to go up one number on the serial number so you dont forget then add the dns settings below.

ns in A and the ip you picked
ns2 in A and the ip you picked

Then hit save, now all you have to do is give the customer the ips for the name servers and tell them to register them

Hope this helps.
