% vitrual CPU on Vmware Workstation
I am using Vmware Workstation 7.1.1 on dedicated Server (windows 2003) . I have 1 VPS on it. (centos/windows)
I have set 8 core CPU for this VPS, and more resources for it.
When i zip an folder ( ~ 500mb ) on this VPS, This VPS is overload CPU (100% CPU)
at this time,dedicated server is 2-4% CPU.
When i zip an folder ( ~ 500mb ) on dedicated Server is 2 - 4% CPU.
version 8.x also this.
Please help me % CPU of VPS.

Just switch it to 8 proc instead of "cores"

VMware Workstation can swallow CPU interrupts, making maintenance of accurate time difficult.
VMware Workstation v6.5 and older cannot use more than 2 CPUs (or cores) per virtual machine. This means that a single virtual machine cannot use the full power of the underlying hardware on machines with the total number of cores greater than 2 (such as Intel's Core 2 Quad or AMD's Phenom x4).

VMware on top of windows server is probably quite inefficient.
You could run a Vmware ESXi setup and then visualize all your systems
