for the same amount of visitors, you should be able to host around 100 websites.

One suggestion would be to create multiple VMs (Virtual Machines) inside your server. Put the sites with higher traffic into a VM of their own. This way, the performance of your other sites will not be compromised.

hmm, that sounds very interesting but it sounds extremely hard, how's that can be achieved?

Depending on whether you are running a Windows or Linux server, there are several popular virtualization platforms out there, for example, VMware, Parallels, Microsoft HyperV, Xen, OpenVZ, Proxmox. These are the more popular ones.

It depends on what those 10,000+ visitors will be doing on your website. Will they be accessing rich media content, or uploading and downloading files, etc? Or will they be just browsing static content?

WordPress has a reputation for being resource hungry. So do watch out there! And make sure you have enough bandwidth to support the expected traffic too. Especially if you are hosting e-commerce sites. The last thing you want is for your users to exit your site without completing their purchase because your site loads too slowly.

is there anyway to minimize that?or do you suggest other cms directly, drupal for instance? i am asking cause i have seen quite a lot of slow speeds from the wordpress sites even if they are properly optimized.

A server of that specification will easily handle much more than you're requesting of it, you'd have to seriously mess up the configuration to slow it down much, so don't worry about it.

Wordpress is a beast but you got lots of space there.
I'm actually thinking of renting a similar server from them
