[HELP] Buying a Home Server/Web server
Im not sure if this is the right section but if its wrong please remove it or move it to the right section.
Well im looking to buy a home server for a webhosting company and too run all of my websites plus a game server for a friend.
I have been looking at the dell servers but have no idea what to get
So where do i begin im trying to get something that doesnt use alot of heat
Do i use my ISP Provider for bandwidth?
If i get the server where do i begin to set it up for like CentOS etc or if i wanna make vps's for clients
What about filehosting/storage?
Any help would be highly appreciated.
Remember this is a server to run at home

unless you have 100 Mbps connection up/down I wouldn't even think about hosting it at home.
Just colo / rent a server.

Most ISPs will also not allow this if they catch you, your best bet is to purchase colocation space (There are many affordable ones) to start.

You can buy a dedicated server, then you colocate it.. or you can just rent a server from a company -- I'd check out the Offers page.
