Anyone interested in installing mysql on a RaQ4 for a fee?

Rackshack continues to give me headaches. I'm starting to wonder about these guys.

I CANNOT get the MySQL package to install on my Raq4i they are hosting. When I try through the control panel, both via the url and by uploading the .pkg file, I get an error that there is 'a problem installing .........rpm'. When I try to download the rpms and then ftp them to my server and manually unpack them, I get a similar error. Something is screwed, maybe now enough space in /lib?? Dunno. All I know is that I installed the web stats 1.3 via the control panel without a problem.

Rackshack of course is no help, Cobalt won't help, although their services organization will install mysql/php for $300!!!!

Anyone want to try to take a crack at this, for a nominal fee?

    Hi there,

What URL did you use? I'm also with Rackshack, and mine installed without any hassles at all.

Can't remember exactly, but it's the one that has been floating around here. Even uploaded the rpms per Cobalt's knowledgebase and tech support, and the rpms wouldn't unpack!

These guys provide MySQL installation, and I believe they are reputable (the owner is a regular poster on the Cobalt mailing list, although I haven't used them myself so can't give a personal recommendation): http://www.raqsupport.net/

make sure first that the file you were trying to unpack came from here:
    http://pkg.nl.cobalt.com/i386/RaQ3-R...-3.22.32-1.pkg

Try installing that in your cobalt admin console if it is successful, then go here:

thank you, that was the package I tried to install. I suspect there's a bigger problem here. I have someone looking into it.

    Thanks again.
