    Windows Server 2008 R2

After rebooting a server recently it went to 1 active core on the task manager?

Is this a hardware issue? it has 2 Dual E5620 CPU in it.

That would mean either a misconfigured BIOS setting, or you are actually on a VM...

I don't know the server was rebooted last night. One of our staff messed around with it when they should of not touched it. The server detects 16 cores in the device manager. Yet the task manager is only showing 1 core.

He simply ignored me after I asked him what he had done. checked the msconfig that is set to all cores as active. He did say that he edited some registry settings on the server last night.
