I don't personally have anything from LW, but just out of curiosity.. Why are you looking this exactly? Most HDDs will have a rough speed which you'll be able to find on the net somewhere if you're after a few stats

Well we need high I/O HDD servers
Here are a few I/O results from services we used, we are looking for a few more servers but wanted to know I/O rate of servers
Using the normal dd if=/dev/zero of=test bs=64k count=16k conv=fdatasync command here are a few stats :-
Server.lu
2x1TB 7.2k RPM with Soft Raid0
70-80MBps
Qirus.eu
4x2TB 7.2k RPM HDD HW Raid10
180-220MBps
InstantDedicated
1 x 1TB HDD
3GBps~
Kimsufi 16G
2TB HDD
110MBps
OVH Advertises its MG Series to provide 3GBps I/O Rate per HDD with HW Raid
FYI, in all cases all servers were quad core (mostly i7 2600,i5 2300, Dual Xeon E5130 etc) and with 8-16GB Ram and 1Gbps port
Even with such good CPU because we don't get good I/O CPU load readily remains 6-8 avg load or more and causes problems
We serve downloads/uploads of files of 60MB-600MB size and around 15000-20000 downloads and 600-1000 uploads a day at MAX
For now best I/O is by instantdedicated and ovh (but poor US network) and have no idea about LeaseWeb

What kind of setup would you go for? Just a bunch of 1TB drives?
If so I might be of help... by Monday.

Most providers would be happy to custom order specific hardware brand/model. Also, if your main webserver and fileserver is hosted with different providers, it is extremely rare for the fileserver provider to get a DMCA notification. And most US hosts provide 24 hrs to respond to DMCA, and if need be you can always give the host a tool to remove any offending content.

Well ID tested it and tests showed that and they use WD Black Caliver or something like that HDD
I find it pretty believable coz OVH MG series also state in their config a I/O rate of 6GBps on their 3 HDD server
No idea lol my work starts and ends at getting them servers and setting it up
Also I dont think fanart comes under copyright but w/e

Look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serial_ATA
I think you are confusing the SATA BUS speed with the actual speed of your hard drive :-)
Classic 7200 RPM drives, should be around 90-100 MB per second if they run as single drive. You get greater performance with Raid 0 or 10, but not even close to the 3G or 6G. More realistic is 200-300MB/s██ • Dedicated Servers in Europe and Asia: http://www.server.lu •

This is done on WD RE4 1 TB disks, 7200 rpm.
Thats the test from ID server on just 1 HDD we requested, I dont see it impossible because of that
@Globichen just retested in the /home dir that is with Soft Raid0 and I/O was 160MBps
But I have seen in various servers above 200-300MBps rate even with Sata2

Sysrescd is usually loaded into RAM, so your results above could be a dd performed from /dev/zero into RAM.

Yeah well might have been Raid10 but again I have tested BuyVM's vps and get 500MBps
A Friend said he gets 400-600MBps on leaseweb server with soft raid0
Thing is even with 150MBps I/O the IOWait gets to 90% easily

Well they did retests and Rate is 110MBps per HDD and 3GBps was because HDDs werent mounted in rescue system
What do you think, will having 4-12HDD of 100MBps rate each be equal to 12x100MBps IO (12 HDD) and should decrease IO wait heavily ?
Just a example

SAS @ 15000 RPM
Then put it into a RAID-10 array. Say 8 drives.
I would recommend SSD, but RAID controllers have no TRIM support, so your SSD drives would not have a long life.
Also note that cost per Gigabyte is significantly higher on SAS or SSD drives.██ • Dedicated Servers in Europe and Asia: http://www.server.lu •

SAS for 8TB will be like $500+~ :/
How about Sata3 drives ?
4x2TB 7.2k RPM Sata3 Hitachi Deskstar 7K3000 (7200 rpm, 64 mb cache)
And have 2 such servers ?
