I have used this company in the past... they are a good company to work with. The monthly fees that are associated with most Merchant Accounts can become a little unbearable if your sales don't support the expense.

OK, then why couldn't you compensate for a monthly fee through the pricing of your products and services? And have a flat amount you have to cover, instead of an inflated discount rate that will cost you more as your business grows?

Slightly higher discount rate vs. $10 for Statement, $10 for Gateway plus a monthly minimum anywhere from $10 - $35 or higher.

I was paying $50/mth for Merchant Services(including a $35 Monthly Minimum). If sales are down and/or individuals/businesses want to be invoiced and pay their invoice by a check, why have the additional expense each month just going out the door to accept credit cards?

Charge.com is simply what seems to be a reseller of sorts. You sign up through them but then that's it, you then deal with three other companies:

authorizenet for the terminal
a bank for processing the charge
Leasecomm for the lease

the whole thing can be a headache and the fees really add up when you consider the monthly fee, then the trasaction fees, then the gateway fees, its a mess.

We've had a number of problems getting Charge.com to take care of the sales inquiries that iPayments.com won't answer because I signed up through a reseller... Charge.com doesn't know what I'm asking about when I talk about Cybercash CashRegister...

I signed up with NOVA, and I've been much happier. Gotta hate paying iPayments.com $35.00 per month for a merchant account you don't use though.
