VPS supplier that can handle many connections?

    Hello

I am in need of a small VPS (128-256MB RAM 500-1,000GB Traffic) but who allow to have many users connected to it

The purpose that I will use this VPS is, a BitTorrent Tracker (a tracker, NOT a BitTorrent indexer) No infringing files will be hosted (no files at all all will be hosted) I am only using it to run a program (tracker) which will use ~5% of a single core CPU (so not CPU intensive)

The catch is there will be a mix of ~600+ UDP and TCP connections/sec opened. (approx 120kb/s up and 120kb/s down) Which my previous host did not like me having at all.

So does anyone know where I can host this?

Please note again: there is nothing even remotely illegal about running a BitTorrent Tracker (Yes I will be tracking LEGAL files)

    Thanks in advance

P.S, location is not important at all

Just make sure you get a KVM/XEN box, that way you can disable conntrack and not have to worry about filling that up On an OpenVZ based VM you'll likely cause some serious headaches for most hosts as their conntrack limit will only be a few thousand for the whole node.

Find some hosts that your interested in using, and just contact their sales department with your questions.

I suspect many will have more issues with the use (torrent tracker) than your actual network requirements.

I agree, ask a few hosts and explain what you're trying to do to see if any will work with you. I know that 2host allows 10TB a month of bandwidth, but I haven't looked at their TOS lately to say if they allow bittorrent trackers or not.

I don't see why this should be a major problem. I think most decent hosts will allow that.

Xen/KVM VPS host should be able to manage it without a problem. Check with the provider before signing up.

Actually, they don't. I was in the same boat recently before I gave up....Most VPS providers seem to be scared of even the remote possibility of getting an email from copyright trolls so they ban all P2P, even legal stuff. Not sure if that is even legal in terms of net nutrality laws but...
