    Trouble with cpanel

    Hello,

I am having bit trouble with cpanel. Cpanel just accepts root and one other user's login credential. For all users it is giving error. It is giving Login Attempt Failed!

Can any one help regarding this?
I have contacted server provider for help but they are taking more time.

As you have root access try to change the pass for a cpanel account and see if the new pass works.

I have tried that, but no success. I have changed root's password, user's password, but still same error. Access for only root and one other user.

Your /etc/passwd could be corrupt or something.

    When did this start exactly?

What cPanel build are you running?

Yep.. It is asking to check for if shadow (or passwd) file is corrupted or not.. i am checking. Will update the result. The trick suspending / unsuspending did not work.

Sounds like you need to check/rebuild:

    /etc/passwd
    /etc/group
    /etc/shadow

What version of cPanel/WHM are you running?

So, after all the checks, updates it finally concludes that i have to re-install the server or have to check it from boot option (etc/passwd and etc/group and etc/shadow). So i have decided to go for re-install. Re-installation will do, because server is not in production mode.
