DMEHosting Review
Hi,
Today I cancelled my VPS from DMEHosting after having it for like 2 months.
From a scale of 0 to 10 here's my review of the hosting:
Prices: 10
Support: 3
Uptime: 7
I know I was not a customer for so long but in this 2 months having my VPS with them this is what I think about the hosting.
They have very good prices, no doubt on that, but their support is very bad, long waiting time (up to days of waiting) and just for a very informal/short/non-informative answer. Less than a week ago I was trying to send emails from my vps using php's mail() function and it was taking like 2 minutes to load the page where I was sending the email, asked for support to see if maybe they had some sort of firewall or something that could have been affecting this and the answer i got was: "No, we have not set any such restrictions on the VPS."

I have a couple of VPS with other companies with the exact same configuration and sending emails is not a problem, so it was obviously something from their side that was affecting my vps from sending emails. IMO they could have investigated a little further about this issue.
Regarding the uptime, I can't say it's bad or good, neutral would be the nearest. I had a couple of downtime's, which in one occasion I opened a ticket because I couldn't access my VPS for a long time.

Once again I got a very short answer after waiting for almost 10 hours with no information about why my VPS was down. Something else I noticed is that my VPS was getting restarted like everyday, I didn't have the mysql and ftp server installed as service so I had to turn it on in order to get my site working again.
I added funds to my account to pay for my VPS for 6 months, but around 3 days ago I decided to change to another company so I asked for a refund. I got an answer from the billing department and my refund after 3 days of waiting and having to open a PayPal dispute in order to get their attention.
I did not have the worse experience with them but I believe they really need to improve their support and communication with the customer.

I guess the good thing is you got out before it was too late I know when I was with dme I had the same problem with support. I hope you’re happy with your new host and good luck in the future.
