Do you get the exact match bonus from google when using a dash in your domain or not?
(FYI, the domain I own is <<removed>>)

A hyphen in your domain will not discount the results from the keywords your are trying to rank for, i.e. if you have keyword-rest of keyword, would be just as much of a benefit if a domain was keywordkeyword or no hyphen. Many do this because the domain name is taken, so they put a hyphen to get the exact match domain name, but only with the hyphen in it, and Google reads the words in the domain from the search term type in the Google search bar.

I think the domain name is looks ugly:
myowndomainname.com
I like for some reason the following way:
my-own-domain-name.com
the SEO can be done to any domain name!

You are absolutely right about that, but what others are doing out of not being able to do proper seo is get domains with the keyword in it. Which ranking a page or site without the keyword can be done just takes a little more work. It would be more professional to have a domain without the hyphen.

Hyphen in domain name does not help much from the search engine ranking factor. But one thing is sure these hyphen added domain are not very much user friendly to type and open. So if you think from this, it is not good for SEO.

Hyphens do not detract too much from the SEO value, though you will probably lose out to the EMD that has no hyphen in it, all else being equal.
Don't worry too much about it, having the hyphen in an otherwise exact match will most often be better than alternative domain names provided that your match is the best fit keyword or keyword phrase for targeting your intended audience.

For User Friendliness, don't use Hyphens.
For Search Engine Friendliness, use the Hyphen.
- Google says optimize for people, not for search engines.
Conundrum? Nah.

Having a domain orangetrees.tld and domain orange-trees.tld will have the same effect on search engines, because search engines already have techniques to distinguish common words in domain names.

Not a problem at all Many popular sites already use the hyphen in their domain. So, it basically doesn't effect ur SEO.

It won't effect your SEO, but remember SEO is for search engines. Google says optimize for people, not for search engines. There's some truth in that because not everyone will remember to type the hyphens.
Morale: Optimize for people where possible.

I disagree. I would rather own online-games.com instead of playingonlinegames.com. The first domain looks more professional to me.

Too many hyphens in the domain is not good, you can have 1 "-" in the domain that can work out. Better, not to have any hyphens in the domain name i.e. <<removed>>

You can get away with a hyphen or 2. Google doesn't seem to like them, but Bing does.

It's always best to avoid hyphens in a domain name.
