How to give a VPS its own IP
So I am using ESXi, and I have gotten the VPS created and the OS installed. However, during the VPS install, I was prompted to enter an IP. Now, I dont know what I am supposed to do at this point. My goal is to have the VPS be accessible at another IP for clients to log into the server from. I have no idea how to do this, and any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks. Oh and im using Ubuntu 11.10 server edition.

If it's from hosting environment, check with your server provider and they would be able to provde you an available IP.
