I'm not 100% sure I understand what you want. Are you trying to *host* game servers? If so, you don't need a video card for a server. www.corenetworks.com have fairly priced servers.

Servers aren't meant for games. Why would you want to play games on the server?

So can a PC. For the money to buy a good spec server you can buy a good spec gaming pc.

Servers are not designed for playing games.

You can however buy server parts such as use Intel Xeon CPU's in gaming rigs but thats something totally different.

I think you are confused. Server components are generally different and more expensive then a home computer. Servers aren't designed for running "client" applications such as games, they are designed for hosting "server" software.

You should read up:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Server_(computing)

The server operating system (such as Windows Server) typically doesn't even have DirectX built in it, just a stripped down bare minimum version of it. Most PC games require DirectX.

You can build a fast computer that would play games at a higher frame rate, for a lot cheaper then a server.

I highly suggest you head over to www.techforums.com and post there.

The problem is you are connecting to it remotely, if it's Windows probably via RDP -- that's not very suitable for running graphically oriented games.

Why does it matter if its "online" 24 hours a day? I would expect all you need is for it to be "online" when you're playing.
