Flash / Web Designer looking for Contract / Freelance work

Just want to introduce myself to the users here and hopefully be able to create some working relationships with some of you in the near future! The first site that I would like to show is my own personal site: http://www.webryder.com . This site was just re-launched in March, after being somewhat unchanged for quite a while. It uses a lot Flash including some new features of the application. This site is what I consider my resume, as it has client listings, links to sites that I have created and lots of other neat and informative aspects.

During 1999 and into 2000 I work for an organization called Learning Design Studios (http://www.learningdesignstudios.com) where we used Flash for educational purposes and online courses to show users how a variety of things worked. The idea was excellent and a great experience that just didn't last long enough, recently was told that perhaps we were a little before our time.

One of the more recent major projects that I was involved with was the authoring of two chapters in the 'Friends of ED' series. They approached me around the middle of last year and the books are finally hitting the store shelves. The first one that I was involved in was for the 'Flash 5 Dynamic Content' book, where I discussed how CGI scripts can interact with Flash. One example was a rather simple mail-form, while the other was an online poll where users could select various options to vote somebody out of the 'house'. Here is a link to the listing on the 'Friends of ED' web site: http://www.friendsofed.com/book_flash5dcstudio.html .

The other chapter that I wrote was for the 'Flash 5 Studio' book that came out recently. I wrote about how Flash can use rather simple text files to update content inside of a Flash file. It discuss how to set up a series of text files on the server to be called on once a user makes a selection and it calls upon the correct file to update the text field. Here is a link to the listing on the 'Friends of ED' site for this book: http://www.friendsofed.com/book_flash5studio.html . This book has been out for a little while and the intital reviews have been quite excellent so far. If you would like any references for the books, please do not hesitate to ask and I can provide them for you.

In addition to these books, I have gone on to do some writing for some reputable online sites. I have submitted articles for both gif.com (http://www.gif.com) and wdvl.com (http://www.wdvl.com).

Some other sites that I have designed include:
http://www.groceryinsider.com
http://www.is.ca
http://www.webryder.com/MMMUG
http://www.tethystech.com
http://www.autoeuniversity.com (latest project - launch date June 1st)

Along with numerous other clients.... feel free to ask for references .

So, if anybody is considering off-site designers for any opportunities, please contact me. I am located in Canada with Cable Internet, have over four years designing professional web sites, and am currently looking to work on some new projects. Of course I also have all of the latest design technologies, including PhotoShop, Fireworks, Dreamweaver, Swift 3D, Swish, and numerous other applications.

So, if anybody is interested in contacting me please feel free to write me directly or post any questions that you may have here.

Thank You,

Curious...

how much would you charge for a Flash intro like the one on your website?

Very nice work BTW... if you ever wish to consider an exclusive partnership with a hosting company, let me know
