Strange Email/A Record Puzzle - One Address Doesn't Get Contact Info

    Hi,

(I had posted this in shared but got no replies -- admin can you please remove the post in the shared forum -- (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1124494) -- Thanks!

I've got a standard PHP contact form that works great. I have two email addresses in the "sending" area of the form. One address always gets the contact requests but the other email doesn't - so it's not the script.

The only thing "special" about this website is that the email/MX is hosted on "server 1" and the www., @, and . (e.g the website) A records are all hosted on "server 2".

Assuming the domain name is www.mywebsite.com, the address that's having the issue is me@mywebsite.com. The other address the form sends information to is not in the "mywebsite.com" domain.

Is it possible that the website -- hosted on server 2 -- is having a hard time routing email to the me@mywebsite.com because the MX is hosted on "server 1"?

    This one has me puzzled!

Thanks in advance for any help.

Are you setting a FROM and/or REPLY-TO with the email script? I could see that as one way to see if there's a 'bounce' reply on your me@mywebsite.com send.

If you have access to the mail log on server1, you should be able to see why the messages are not accepted.

Another avenue is to use a debug mode with the script if possible, to see what's actually going on.
