Vps with much bandwith for game updates
Hello everyone.
I am making an MMORPG and need a place to host my game updates. It needs to be really fast and as cheap as possible. Low specs don't really matter as it is just ment to upload files.
I found this offer at 2host
128MB Dedicated RAM
5GB HDD Storage
10TB B/W @ Gigabit
Powered by XenServer
$2,95
per month
Which seems really cheap but is exactly what I am looking for because it has 10TB data transfer which should be enough and It can deliver that at 1 gbps which is perfect and can garantuee a fast download for all the players. Now there is one little problem when I try to order it I get to another page where the minimum is 256MB RAM 2host dot com/support/cart.php and is 5 dollar a month.
Now I want to ask you guys, is this site a good choice because it seems pretty weird to me you can't pick an offer thats on the home page. I also mailed their support around 2 days ago but they didn't react yet.
Do you have something similar at 1gbps and a good data transfer and low specs?
Do you have any experience with 2host?
Thanks for the help
Maarten

10TB transfer is about 30Mbps average for the month. You can't yet buy 30Mbps of real bandwidth for $3 anywhere in the world. Or at least i don't know of any transit provider selling at $0.10/Mbps, no matter at what commits..
So be realistic and don't expect wonders.

I can say from personal experience with 2host that you will never be able to use that 10TB, those numbers have been questioned many times.
Try searching for some reviews here and look at the service announcements, I don't know if they have upped their game at all but they used to be down for days at a time with zero responses to support tickets, I even got a reply to a ticket over a year later in one instance which has to break all records.
I also used to find once I had used a few hundred GB that the speed was reduced/capped without announcement.█ -> INCEPTION HOSTING LIMITED Since 2010!

I got one at fastvps.co, The offer was pretty good and it is already up so yea. It has 1 TB bandwith and 100 mbps but it should be enough for now. It was only 12 dollar for 1 year so why not . VPS6 Looks like a good option if I get bigger ( although the basic packs seem to have a little less bandwith. Thanks for the info
@backtogeek that doesn't sound too positive, I am pretty glad I chose fastvps

He's using it to distribute game updates.
OP: You can't expect what you are wanting for less than $30. Only on huge commits do carriers offer <$1/mbit. You could potentially get traffic at OVH that's as cheap as you are looking for; but that doesn't cover the cost of the hardware at all.
