My Review of Virpus.
Hey everyone this is my one month review of virpus.com.
So let me start out by saying this is the worst service i have ever had. I had ordered a VPS with cpanel on Friday the third of this month. Their welcome email explained how Cpanel would be installed on the server within 12 hours (apparently they always install cpanel if you order a license with your vps) and 5 days later its still not installed, Most of their support staff has been telling me to open tickets for new departments (3 times now). Then yesterday i finally got a response from their activation department saying it was being installed mind you that this was a 12 pm yesterday and by 1 pm today its still not installed i asked why and they forwarded the ticket to another department... I then asked if i was gonna receive any compensation for my lost billing time since i cant even use the vps until they install cpanel (their welcome email said its best not to touch it before they do), their response to that was
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hi,
I am very sorry for the delay in getting the control panel installed, however we do not issue credits in these cases as there can be delays outside our control.
Warm Regards,
Adam Daley
Virpus Networks, Inc.
So i asked how it was out of their control and guess what? it gets forwarded again!!!!!!!!!
So i urge anyone looking for a vps stay away from virpus or at the least dont buy cpanel from them if your gonna buy a vps GET CPANEL SOME WHERE ELSE!
That was my rant thank you.
i`m with virpus for about 18 months now and i am happy with the service.
however , it is true that i didn`t need their help for some time.
they are somehow slow motion on solving tickets indeed , but i`m happy that vps is running really ok for the price i pay
Cpanel should take about 45 mins to fully download/install. A week in any case is not acceptable for such a simple task.
They oversell too much, if yours is on a terrible node, you'll find your vps at a very high load (maybe avg. 50+ ), then they say your fault. When you move to another company's VPS, the load is normal (0.2-).
gillz5 - Why don't you install cPanel/WHM real fast instead of them? Instead of waiting, just install it yourself and ask them to license it only (they may have already done that).
There are many reason OP don't do that his/her-self.
1. OP never install cPanel and need provider help, you could argue with "OP can search how to install cPanel" on google/WHT
2. OP have a light linux experience but stuck about how the license assigned.
3. OP know everything, but sometimes people know provider will do that for them, they will just wait and see, but after nothing came up, OP submit ticket and got another promise again which caused OP sit down and wait for another promise.
well ... i bought another one and it works so DEADLY SLOW that even SolusVM ( server manager control pannel ) thinks it is offline ( IT IS NOT ) . since 06/14/2012 (when i have opened the ticket ) the problem was not solved yet but they decided not to answer for ~ 3 days then .. when i have found that server is STILL DEADLY SLOW and i checked on ticket status ... not answered but closed .
IF YOU LOOK ON SLOUSvm STATS YOU CAN SEE MISSING PORTIONS. I SUPPOSE THESE missing portions represend moments when vps was so slow that it didn`t aswered in time and it was considered offline
I have a vps at virpus.
In recent months, this is the worst I encountered a vps system load has been high, often offline, submit the ticket, long-term lack of response, up to reply to encounter problems, are being processed, then, there will never be any reaction.
If you do not want to become irritable, please stay away from it: virpus.
bad host
I just had similar experience, my account got suspended because missed invoice. Their invoice notification emails went straight to spam folder. Whole story below.
As soon as I found about termination, I paid invoice and reconnection fees, opened two tickets and tried calling.
When I called, they put me on hold and then after about 30 seconds told me that no reps are available and hung up. Everything looked very automated.
Received totally unreasonable replies to my tickets which did not make any sense. Seem to be automated or support people who don't know what they're doing.
They have email to escalate tickets, so as last resort, tried it today and got bounce. Its been going on for two days now, so you decide.
In general I've been with them for about 3 months, slow disk IO and problems with bandwidth. I would not recommend them for reliable hosting.
