Not just Nocster, Burst too. Salman logged off AIM when it happened, his connection may have been dropped. The phone has been ringing and ringing, no answer yet...

    *sigh*
What does one host say to the other? "(HostA) Want to go see a movie?" "(HostB) Sure, can your parents drive?"

I'm premium, and no, I did not have to pay $6 a month to figure that out.

That is because their network is down hence they cannot communicate with their clients. - not really ideal since it would be nice to know if they are working on it and how long the outage will be.

Yeap totally down. I think they are adding Globix but it should not take their entire network down to do that. This is no good.

My server's down as well. It figures that it'd happen during my forum's daily rush hour.

I think in the event of a system wide crash BurstNET had a geocities page for notification. Don't know what it is but read it somewhere...

Sadly, this seems like it's becoming routine ....

    Darktides,

First AT&T problems, then sprint problems... Now whatever this is...

It's just getting a bit much all in one month. I'll still stick with 'em providing they continue to get these types of things resolved quickly - I have too much work setting shop up there to just yank it and leave and they've been generally very good, but I don't see this kind of stuff happening to rackshack...

Update on situation from a BurstNet employee:

Sorry, I'm not at the NOC so I too had to find out what happened. We had a router and some other hardware go down and we are feverishly working on getting it fixed now. Should be restored within 45 mins.

    thedavid,

That is my point. I've been with them for about 4 months and I cannot recall so much downtime, let alone, in the same 1-2 week span.

I understand people have problems and I'm not saying I expect it to never have problems for what I pay but it seems that AT&T and Sprint are always the reasons lately.

My question is that this is supposed to be multihomed, correct? Why aren't we routing over Global Crossing/Level3/Cogent like when AT&T/Sprint died in the past? I'm never seeing that anymore. It's simply (for me), sprint dies, we're down.

I'm not ready to leave shop either yet (I have 3 servers there) but if these things keep happening every few days for the rest of the month I'll seriously consider it... I just don't get why we're not routing over something else or why no one has been able to reach them on the phone etc...

It would be nice if someone could atleast find out the problem instead of them disappearing.
