Need help to choose a provider

I read a lot of discussions, web pages about servers and providers and I spotted two companies (for Europe), I already have servers in US:

swiftway.net

hetzner.de

Offers:

swiftway.nl /offergroup/ budget-dedicated-servers /
Sandy Bridge i3 2100 3,1 Ghz

and

hetzner.de /hosting /produkte_rootserver /ex6

Intel® Xeon® E3-1245 Quad-Core
inkl. Hyper-Threading-Technologie

Who knows these two processors, what is the best offer in processor terms? and for support your feedbacks about Swiftway and Hetzner?

I have customers with online shops and I want to find a good company with quick support in case a hardware failure.

Thanks in advance for you advices.

Both have good network and the E3-1245 CPU is way better than the i3 one. If you have 149€ to pay for the setup I suggest you to take the hetzner offer.

Hands down the E3 will beat out the i3 in running anything. I have not used Swiftway before but when I did have a server with Hetzner, the network was solid and never had an outage.

I used to use Hetzner, they are good but the latency (US -> EU) kind of was a downside for me. I never had an outage, their network is good too.

Right now I use SwiftWay, but not that same server. They seem to be alright but their support isn't the best, they usually go off of your questions and avoid helping.. even though I'm unmanaged, they should help one or two things the first day of having the server..

As others have said the E3 is much better than the i3. Overall, in the short time i've been using Hetzner, I've been fairly please with the network. If most of your users are going to be in the EU then Hetzner is probably your best bet. That doesn't mean the connection to the US is bad, it just could be better.

The visitors targeted are european people so it's not so important if the connection to the US is not so good.

You are comparing orange and apple :-)

Both CPU are good.

If you are just starting, you can go for i3 else it will be E3.
