Looking for VPS to host Gameserver

I have recently had a bad experience with turnkeyinternet's vps solutions and am now looking for a new vps.

In particular
2048MB Ram Minimum
2.5GHZ CPU Cores+
2000 GB Monthly bandwidth

Im willing to pay $20 to $50/month depending on the quality of the VPS.

I've heard some good things about NFO servers. I've never personally used them.

Linode is also really good. We have a server with them that is used to offload our webserver.

Code:
uptime
 02:14:04 up 238 days, 21:25, 1 user, load average: 0.08, 0.03, 0.05

Are you just looking to host one game server? If so, wouldn't you be better off jut purchasing it from a reputable GSP instead?

I used to host gameservers off of a linode (cs 100 tick 500 FPS with ventrilo and ts servers in the background). Worked great.

Also, you will want to make sure you're using Xen. Depending on the game server you're wanting to host, it may or may not cause issues on OpenVZ.

Hello, As questions have been asked from others as well - as to what the problem was with your VPS pcakage with us- I feel it prudent to clarify here.

Your VPS - and the game server there in, was attacked multiple times with over 500+ Mbps of distributed bandwidth attacks (and packet per second packets)- and you did not wish to pay for the optional DoS filtering, or for the added bandwidth costs that would result from that type of traffic. You appear to be aware of these attacks since you even opened a ticket on a previous date about being attacked (smaller DDoS that time).

For your next host provider selection - you need to clarify that you are looking for a VPS provider in the price range and specifications you want, that will allow large scale distribute attacks on your server as well for the same included costs - as there are some providers better suited for you if you want to have DoS filtering like that.

Best wishes to you on your business and hosting services in the future.

Yes my gameserver was being hit by a DDoS attack, but offering a $599 invoice for for DDoS mitigation software then saying buy this or leave, seemed rather snarky and condescending in my opinion. As for an attack on my server, that is completely outside of my control and assuming every network I ever move too will be hit by a DDoS attack is a rather large assumption for me to jump too.

This being said, Turnkeyinternet is a good provider, probably one of the best that I have had. They have immediate customer support, their servers are top quality, and they offer good locations around the globe. The problem I had was not turnkeyinternets fault, but the result of a malicious culprit with a botnet.

Now that this is cleared up, I am not here to review my previous server providers, but to find one that matches my needs.

The virtualization platform is not of that great importance too me, unless certain platforms can run a gameservers more optimally. Anything from OpenVZ, VMWare, or Xen is fine with me.
