WHM on sub domain

If WHM/Cpanel is on a sub domain , say test.example.com , how do I control the example.com? Most tutorials/guides assume everything is on example.com. So now if I want to add an email , I can only use user@test.example.com .. ?? How can I create user@example.com in Cpanel?

Thanks!

Oh and now I got another problem ... I added example.com as addon domain. And it also appeared in test.example.com as subdomain. Now when I try to delete the addon domain , I got error saying subdomain exists and when I delete the subdomain , it says error addon domain exists ... Oh joy Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Here you go http://www.demowolf.com/tutorials/de...amp;series=289

Edit: you can select the domain using the dropdown menu

Eh , I think I have given a wrong impression. I have used cpanel before. My question is that the reseller account comes with ehm/cpanel on a subdomain.

sub.domain.com not domain.com

So the structure is like this

whm.sub.domain.com
ftp.sub.domain.com
mail.sub.domain.com
....

So when I go to cpanel to add email , all I see is username @ sub.domain.com

Currently , what I have done is to add my domain as the addon domain. So now I can choose domain.com or sub.domain.com.

Is it the right way? Or is there any other ways? Thanks

Normally the account would be created as "domain.com" and you were create "sub domains" and not "addon domains"

Works either way in the end though Most hosts allow more subdomains than domains.

You can try to delete the main domain from the shell and if you are not having shell access then ask your hosting provider to remove it as its required root login to make such changes...

Yup , normally its on domain. Anyway its all alright now. Thanks for help guys!

The solution given and acted was to remove the addon domain and the subdomain in cpanel. And then add an account in whm with domain as a new account. Of course my own package. And give it the master reseller account.

So now it look like this.

sub.example.com/whm
sub.example.com/cpanel
These two are the accounts given to me and for management purpose of my account.

From this , I have created
example.com/cpanel
example.com/whm
Which I will be using for my primary reseller business.

Of course its all straight forward now. I just need to manage everything from example.com now. Took me awhile to realised I am controlling domain account using sub.domain account. LOL
