Best Cloud hosting for high traffic?
Hello, I run a online radio, and the current hosting keeps crashing from the high traffic it gets. Im currently using shared hosting, but I want to switch to cloud computing. The vps doesn't have to be managed I can do that myself. I would like something CHEAP, but can handle a load. Can't really afford something expensive atm. However, the radio can't keep having this down time. So the server should be able to handle about 200 people at a time, and have atleast a 100mb/s connection. If you could lead me to the best hosting company for that need. It'd be much appreciated.

Cloud hosting as a general rule is expensive for bandwidth so you would probably be better off looking for a VPS or low end dedicated. Depending on your bitrate, I would expect 200 users to consume around 20mbps which is quite manageable on a VPS.
Server4you has some quite cheap bandwidth deals on VPSs and all plans have gigabit uplinks.

You could easily push 2-5TB on that kind of usage pattern, which will cost you $75-$300 just for the transfer...

There are plenty of cloud hosting providers that can give you a good bandwidth package at competitive rates that VPS/Dedicated providers are able to offer. Just have to look around.

Well if you say you cannot afford much but then say you cannot be offline anymore that is a big contradiction. If you want a great service you will need to invest in your hosting service.
What is your estimated budget?

Very high traffic costs - even if you pay per Mbps, expect to pay at least $500 per 100Mbps for quality transit.

i think You only need bandwidth and Ram.
as topgun mentioned, you would do better if you choose a dedicated 20mbps connection along with servers.
You can look for offers in offers section. Or you can talk to cloud hosting providers. The good thing about cloud is you only pay for the bandwidth actually used.

Amazon EC2 may be an option. But if you want the price to be comparable to other vendors, you will have to make right arch. choice. For instance, instead of having one large/extra-large instance, you can have multiple micro instances running behind an ELB. This comes out to be cheaper even though you pay for extra ELB. It is more reliable and you can easily scale up when needed. You can even have a small instance acting as master in your cluster if you get into micro instance throttling issue.
We moved some of our web servers to ec2 recently. We are using 3 micro instances and an ELB still paying less than what we used to pay with another hosting company and is pretty stable, serving 100s of requests at a time.

The above given solution sounds real good... But with multiple micro instances, would it be easy to manage ?

It depends. For instance, you can have exact replica of multiple instances and replicate across multiple instances using rsync or NFS (use async option) etc. This is simple to maintain but performance depends on the application itself. If you have heavy dynamic site which uses more database I/Os then you might want to consider having master/slave instances. Allocate one instance for database server and others for webservers etc., In this case maintenance would be little tricky but still manageable...

I would go with rackspace could man, also if you store alot of static files then go with there could files that uses a CDN to move data around and give people only the best connection.
If you are looking for speed and a server that will never crash go with them.
PM me your contact information and I'll send it over to them. Your get a discount because I'm a partner of them. So coming from me look better.
Trust me man, rackspace goes the extra mile to make everything work. It wont matter if you have 1 person turned in or 20000, with rackspace each and everyone will have the best speed.
I sent a few other radio sites over to them and man they said it was night and day.

I would suggest that you consider a cloud which dynamically assigns resources to your cloud on demand, something like eNlight cloud...
