Question

Hetzner experiences ?


Greetings,

I am currently looking to move from my current dedicated provider to hetzner as they have the lowest pings and the shortest routes from their DC to most of my clients targeted audiences...
What is your take on them ? How is the communication in general be it in German or English and do they offer white label services (i suspect 1 or 2 of my clients will need a dedicated soon as they are hitting their limits with their current vps's...).

Good:
+ excellent prices
+ super-fast network
+ never had any downtime (~15 min in 2 years)

Bad:
+ 'network department' doesn't work on weekends, so if a UDP flood/similar occurs and you get blocked, you have to wait until Monday
+ *some* of their staff are a bit rude (but this could well be the language barrier - generally they're excellent at English)
+ Over-keen to suspend where a simple null-route could/would suffice

They offer good services. English communication is good too. They don't offer white label services as a traceroute shows their datacenter.

That would not be a problem, I am more interested in client portal customization or possible bulk pricing etc...

Network seems to be fast as light for me so should be perfect for my clients. Regarding the rudeness could be people not being accustomed to Germans being "cold" as some would say it...

hetzner rocks in price and specs, I am with them (EQ server)for few months every thing is good there,and I've nothing to say but good )

You can find many reviews about hetzner by using the search function.

I think that the only negative about them is that they dont allow payments via paypal.
They only allow credit cards.
An other "negative" thing from many people (not by myself) is their setup fees. I understand that they might be high but you get really great servers

You should see setup prices from where i come from... Hetzner's setup prices would be a pleasure to pay for...

No problems with Hetzner except somewhat confusing support structure if compared to the US based datacenters that we've used in the past (such as Softlayer). Experienced slight language barriers over the phone. Network has been great.

6/6 have a good experience with them and count me in.
This is really hard to find some big issue or mistake about them.

And I am sure some people still hoping on their setup fee and payment option via paypal

there's no bulk pricing. even you buy 10 server, the price is same. and setup fee can't be waived.

but their support is really the best, except about flooding UDP.. 9/10 for hetzner

Gotta say the same as a lot of guys/girls inhere. Hetzner is a good company but you can experience language problems with their support.. its not too bad though, just takes a little getting used to

I haven't notice any language problems with their support. English support is good.

Now to pricing. It is our aim to offer servers with an excellent price/performance ratio on the market. Achieving this aim as closely as possible requires a whole series of measures. The moment we were to decide to grant discounts would also automatically mean that we would need to ask for higher basic prices. After all, we still need to make sufficient money on discounted systems to cover our costs.
These are strategic decisions which make the business process fast and uncomplicated and ultimately also very efficient. The disadvantage is - there are no discounts.
If the final price is important to you, we can help you achieve your objective quickly and easily. If high discounts are your objective, then it would be better to buy the Juniper "M Series". The discounts here are excellent.
