PassMark CPU Benchmarking... ?

I am looking at the PassMark's CPU Benchmarking and getting confused:

http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_look...700K+@+3.50GHz

CPU - Intel Core i7-2700K @ 3.50GHz
Benchmark - 10258
Price - $399.99

CPU - Intel Xeon X5675 @ 3.07GHz
Benchmark - 10400
Price - $1443

I7 and X5675, both are giving almost similar performance but there is huge price difference than why should anybody buy the second one? What's the catch? What's I am missing here?

Any comments please?

The i7 is a 4 core processor, with HT , 8 threads
The 10400 is a 6 core processor, 12 threads

Adding to that, the i7 has an8MB cache, while the 10400 has 12

Stats for the i7
stats for the 10400

This happens when new hardware comes out, it's highly priced for a year or so, then drops drastically

The X5675 is much faster, has more cores, more cache, also can be dual as to where i7 cannot, X5675 capable of supporting 288gb ddr3 as to where i7 support 32gb

X5675 supports more threads, also i7 doesn't have virtualization technology arghhh to much to name

the X5675 is the way to go if your need true performance, what are you needing this for anyway?
