Unhappy

Thanks for waiting

Okay, I'm awake now...thanks for waiting. You can start posting again.

Oh.

You mean the board is still having that issue with "view new posts"? Dang.
Any hope of a fix here, guys?

I visit and hit new, I get zero new. If I log out and back in before hitting view new, I get zero new. Within seconds, new ones then show up...kinda takes the enjoyment out of coming here, and makes it quite hard to follow threads...

Help??

IE6.02xx on WIN XP pro, with AdSubtract running, but WHT allowed everything except JAVA (not js) and ads.
Old design never did this...

They're highlighted until I try and view them...then it says there aren't any new ones.

Just happened again...by the way.

What are you using that tries to view them? Maybe this is the root of the problem. I dont use any quick links to view new posts, I scroll through the forums.

Also worked for me, returned 3 pages of new posts.

Right side, "view new posts" about half way down the page. I've just switched to not using cookies to browse the forums, so I'll see if it helps at all.
I prefer to just see new posts in total instead of looking at each forum. Much faster for me to skim them all at once.

Kind of an off-the-cuff thought occurred to me. WHT is using load balancing to keep everything running...perhaps one of the machines is having issues...(with me, anyway)
Seem that if I have a problem with this, and log out and back in, it then happens more frequently until I've done that one more time. As if the issue happens with one machine more often than the others...

Okay, browsing with cookies off didn't help. I've switched to Opera 7. Maybe it's my copy of IE...
We'll see..

The view new posts link is that same one webdev and softwarerevenue are talking about above. It just uses the search feature and grabs new posts since last visit.

I too just tested and it worked. Try manually deleting your cookie for WHT. I know you chose not to use cookies now, but it still may be messing you up.

Thanks Corey. I switched to the old skin and it hasn't come back. Previously, it worked for a while, and then would resurface at random times.
Now using IE 6, old skin, and cookies. All is well.

Corey,

Deleting all cookies? It will not help much. Something is wrong with WHT since update! You are ok, but I cannot browse WHT without working "view new posts" link ;(

I have reinstalled Opera 6.04 and 7.01.... The same problem. I have no problems on other VB 2.2.9 forums!!!

http://webhostingtalk.com/showthread...0&pagenumber=2

Try to ask VB what can be wrong http://www.vbulletin.com/members/support.php - i think they know. Thank you.

P.S. last time i was on the forum 2-3 hours ago and the only message I see is "Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms." ;( *&#$&^

This is quite odd...

I don't use the view new posts link, but when browsing through the forums, I don't see the new post icon next to threads with new replies. Just to test something, I did click the view new posts link, and it found none.

I don't see this as being neither a browser issue, as I'm using Moz 1.3, nor a cookie issue, as I've deleted them many times. This has to be an issue with the new template as it never happened with the old.
