8-95 vs Poznet

If I just look at the numbers on their web sites, it seems that 8-95 is cheaper, but what else I miss out, which one should I choose? I am new.

If you're from Singapore choose Poznet. Poznet is really aimed at the singaporean market.

Jinwin,

Is price is your only consideration, or are there some other factors?

Preinstalled scripts? Control Panel? Bandwidth? Storage? Support? or something else?

Most likely you are looking for Value (getting the most of what you find important for your dollar).

What will the your site require? Find out which host offer more of what you need at the best price and then it should be an easy decision.

The problem is they looked alike to me except pricing. They seem to have all I want, the only different may be is some have one click button to install phpbb, which is good for me as a new comer who don't know every thing. But, then, after reading around, many say installing phpbb is just 5-minute job. So which one to go for. Just give me 1 or 2 reliable one with the most "value" to start with, please.

I think 8-95 stand up above all because it has quite an active forum support in www.dixiesys.com but I am not quite sure whether my view is right, comment?

poznet is no good

From personal experience I cannot recommend Poznet. They did give me a sweet deal so I took it, but I've had loads of troubles with them. Support is kind but they don't really seem to know what they're talking about. They tried to put the blame on my domain registrar, who had absolutely nothing to do with it. I could go on, but overall I can just say that support is generally inadequate and their servers are not too sound either.

P.S. I must say I was a bit frustrated when I wrote the above. I guess I cannot judge their servers because my problems could have other reasons. They're probably fine. The tech support is no good, that fact remains.

P.S. 2: A minute after I edit this post for the first time, I'm receiving a message from Poznet. Their servers have been under a Denial of Service attack! I'm glad they finally found out what was wrong, I'm just sad they (again) blamed it on other factors. Well, **** happens, DoS could happen to anyone I suppose.

Auto installation script is good, but it may not install the latest phpBB for you. Email the support see if they willing to help you install phpBB when you need it, coz sometimes we did help customers to install forums, and blogs.

Anyone else using 8-95 been down SINCE YESTERDAY?

Submitted a help ticket, and was told that "...The server experienced a hardware failure. The technicians are still looking into it. Thank you for your patience..."

Guess you get what you pay for - BUYER BEWARE!!!

Are you posting in every thread you can find that mentions 8-95.com? I'll paste the same information as can be found in so far, 3 other threads you've replied to:

The server wouldn't reboot after a kernel upgrade, so we had to have the data center put in a new harddrive, making the old harddrive secondary and now we have an Ensim technician in the server restoring all of the web sites and data (great way to spend $400) and I'd guess he oughta be done in another hour or so.
