That's easy enough, just cruise to the Windows directory>Application Data> Outlook (or Outlook Express) sub-directory where you'l find your mail and news data.

Another thing you can do (If you use Outlook) is create a new PST and copy/move your e-mail to another PST located either on another drive, or network drive.
File>Create New PST etc

Well.. If you had changed the directory you store all your mails, you can also just search for all .pst files and make a second copy. Mine is 1GB... Horrors

I have my hdd split into two partitions... one has the system and program files and the other has all my documents. I've gone into Outlook and set my data file (Under data file management) to be in a special folder in my documents folder.
That way, if something went wrong with my system and I had to restore it from a backup I still have my outlook file in my docs. It's also a lot easier to backup because when I backup my main docs folder it gets backed up as well...

It might be a great solution but searching microsoft.com and microsoft.com/technet revealed zero results. Do you have the site that this is listed on? This may be a third-party program which may or may not have been developed by Microsoft.

Spelling personal properly would have probably helped. I'll try searching on that instead. Thanks.
[EDIT] Here's the link -- http://office.microsoft.com/download.../pfbackup.aspx

To back up your personal folder all you have to do is copy it to a CD or disk. Search your hard drive(s) for *.pst to find any personal folders.

An active backup is making a new PST, and then creating a rule that copies the incoming, and outgoing messages to a PST, you can locate that PST on any drive or computer on your network.
