I made a post that was sorta about this a while back but i cant dig it up and it doesnt have all the answers i want anyway so im making a new one!
Anyway, I'm the webmaster for a company that wants to get an estore going. The scripting is there, however i told the host we need an SSL cert. First one doesnt work (old post explains why in detail) so i ask him for another w/o the challenge pass. However, he sent me 2 files, one was a password and the other was a csr. Im trying to sort out wether or not itll work with geotrust but his response is always something like
"The way the CSR was created is the industry standard and required by the OS
in order to generate the CSR. As long as they (RackShack) create Certs in
the same way the rest of the world creates them you won't have a problem.
I hope this helps."
So again, will a csr generated with a password in IIS 4.0 work with a geotrust cert purchased from rackshack. If you could word it in a why that i can forward it to the host thatd be great! Thanks.
