FTP Backup Service
Hi,
We're looking for somewhere to get FTP backup for our servers. We initially need about 250GB of backup space with a budget of around £15/month.
First of all we looked at http://ftpoffsite.com/, except we heard no reply when we ordered through their contact form. The prices and featured looked good.
Are there any alternatives you would recommend with similar prices to FTP Offsite?
James

Its honestly not that bad, how much is your 200GB data worth?
I always look at it that way, they are reliable and worth every penny.

I can highly recommend www.ukbackup.com - they've just launched a new site and added a ton of extra capacity. We use and trust them for all our cPanel FTP backups.
Cheers

+1 for www.bqbackup.com - How much is your data worth to you? $40 is pocket change when you put things in perspective.

I've used WebbyCart for backup Rsync backup storage, and they've always been reliable and professional. I believe they also provide FTP access:

I used WebbyCart for a year and the connection speed was just too slow. From my calculations, I wasn't able to get more than 10mbps from anywhere in the US, which was completely unacceptable. Backups were taking forever because of it. The multiple login areas (with crazy usernames and passwords) to manage the backup was also too clunky. Not to mention I had to change servers twice, due to issues.
I moved to SecureDragon a couple months ago (used them during their beta as well), and have been nothing but pleased. The 1gbps port speed is great, and uptime has been phenomenal. I use RSYNC, but I'm pretty certain FTP will work with them as well.
Prices are very reasonable.

For smaller storage requirements, check out Hostigation.

Setup an rsync backup yourself if you have Unix/Linux operating system to another server inside your own datacenter or to another server offsite (i.e. your home computer even.) Rsync is what all the backup companies use themselves and it compresses the data and only backs up new or changed files.
You can also put another hard drive inside your server just for the backups.
Or you can backup to a zip file on your hard drive and download it to your home computer via FTP once a week. This can be automated or done manually.
Since you rarely need to restore, the home computer option is viable since a lot of home cable modems have up to 50Mb download speed.
