Best US company supporting servers without a control panel?

Can anyone provide me some recommendations on a US-based server management company who supports servers without a control panel?

I have two servers responsible for running a single high traffic website, which is mine, and I'm not really sure it makes sense from a cost or performance standpoint to get a control panel just to make my management company happy. Really, I just need them to apply updates, maintain the security, monitor for problems, and be there within minutes if the server goes down.

I know Rack911 is the big favorite around here, but I submitted the form on their website asking for a quote, and no one got back to me, so then I called sales on Friday, got voicemail, left a message, and I haven't received a response yet today (it's midafternoon on Monday). Regardless of how talented a tech Steven is, that makes me nervous.

I also called Total Server Solutions, and it appears they now require a control panel. The sales rep said they might be able to make an exception considering it's only one domain name, so I might still go with them, but I'm a little concerned about future issues if their support staff expects a control panel.

I then talked with Touch Support over the weekend, and I was told by a guy in support that normally a control panel is required, but he thought they could make an exception, so I placed an order. This morning though, customer service got back to me and said they can't do it.

So, I'm wondering where to go next. Any ideas?

Cost is NOT the most important factor. Right now, I'm paying a very talented tech about $1000 per month to maintain the servers, and he's doing a great job, but he has a full-time job, and he also has to sleep, so I can't really get him when I need him, which can be a problem.

The most important requirement here is uptime. These servers run a commercial conferencing app, and if they go down, I will have literally thousands of angry people. Of course, if the architecture is set up properly, which I think it is, the app SHOULDN'T go down, but you never know when something is going to happen, and I would feel better having someone there 24/7.

And of course, if I can reduce costs a little, that would be great. $1000 per month for two servers is high, especially since I usually have to wait 12-24 hours for a response from the tech.

So any recommendations? I understand I'm in the minority here, but if anyone has any ideas, I would love to hear them.

I would like to clarify that we routinely support servers without control panels. However, we strongly recommend a control panel if you are wanting to run large numbers of sites on a server. For the situation you are describing with a specific hosted application and no "mess" of hundreds of sites, it would be ideal to run without a control panel

No problem, wouldn't want to lose any business to a simple misunderstanding

Dural, communication with Steven may have gone lost somewhere and it could have happened.

If he can setup a full HA cluster of several machines with failover without a control panel for me, he can surely handle your servers too.
