Full virt unmetered VPS - is there such a thing?
We're looking for full virt unmetered 100mbps (or 1000mbps) VPS.
Can't find anything..
proxmox/xen etc, just NOT openvz (virtuozzo)
Anyone?

Would you really need all the bandwidth for the unmetered? Because that would be costly..

You are paying for the bandwidth when buying unmetered, not the hardware for the most part. $100 for 100mbit is dirt cheap, even burst.net is $200 for 100mbit unmetered.

Thanks, enlightening thought. That explains it.
What interests me is where the price difference stems from when comparing 2 different 100mbps unmetered dedicated servers, 1 costs $100/month, the second 300$/month...

I would imagine you will find the difference based on lots of variables, is it 100mbit dedicated or shared, is it low cost providers like Cogent/Hurricane Electric or some of the more top tier providers? I'm sure there are lots of other reasons, one being greed, that sets pricing.

Many hosts claim to be unmetered, and it turns out to be unmetered BUT a miserable 10M Port shared by a whole house of tenants. So, the term "unmetered" means nothing actually. It is pointness to have an unmetered 1M (or less) bandwidth. Check if they have a guaranteed port speed, if not dedicated port.

If your site(s) pull enough traffic to saturate a 100 mbps uplink, no VPS is going to be sufficient.

It's not for sites, it's for a VPN service.
