For 1TB of storage I'd suggest a dedicated server, honestly. Doing that in a shared environment is just asking for trouble.

What kind of data is being contained in these 1TB of files?

I'm wondering this too, since only thing I can think of in terms of being online would be maybe a erotic pay site or some other kind of video/media site. (least in the sense of being just a small business). But I would definitely say dedicated server, since if you're going over 10GB alone on shared hosting doesn't seem like a good idea.

it was for soccer video files,

but I see no vps that offers 1TB.

do not need much infrastructure, I put a 3BG file for just one or a few customers to download.

just need lots of disk space guaranteed

You'd definitely need to step up to dedicated.

Most VPS providers I imagine (least in a certain price range) usually don't have larger than a bunch of 500GB drives in each servers (mirrored or otherwise). But as others have said you definitely want to look at a dedicated server, not only for the storage requirement but everything else attached.

But that is a funny way to say it "I don't need much infrastructure, I just need to use up 100% of your typical VPS server's worth of hard drive space". At which point they'll likely advise you to get a dedicated server.

Nah, the OP just needs one of those fancy "unlimited" disk space and bandwidth plans!

You mean the same kind of plan where the moment you pass 500mb your host sends you an email saying you're exceeding your limit (it was a few years ago but I remember an unlimited host had a specification that you would be in violation if 75% of your files [by file size] were not html/css/js types of files)

Haha.

I would recommend a dedicated server for you also.

A dedicated server would be most beneficial for you. You will have total control of the machine, meaning you will know exactly how much you can store on your hard drives. You'll also wouldn't have to worry about over-selling.

Right but what I'm saying is you're usually not going to find a VPS provider that is going to be able to offer you 1TB or more of guaranteed hard drive space without practically just giving you the whole machine. Especially not at normal price (and by that time you could just get a dedicated server).

Haha - or one of those unlimited hard drives that do not exists.

@OP - your traffic might be little, but the disk space requirement are so big that only a dedicated can do it for you.

for sure, but a dedicated will cost a lot.

My business is relatively small

no hosting plans for this specific use?

(large disk space)

any way,
recommends some dedicated?
