This is not really a hosting related question but if you had a netbook with windows 7 and the child forgot his password to get into it since they were on a punishment where they lost it for a month and the password suggestion does not ring a bell to them how would one access the netbook with an administrator account or reset the password on their to something new without loosing the data on the netbook

I should mention since its a netbook their is no cd rom and when I try to bootup press f8 I get the option to reset password but it asks me to put in a password recovery disk in even though their is no cd rom??

There is a NT login password and registry changer that was made in the XP days, but I've used on Vista that should work. You can get it from my old downloads page, or from the programmers website:

Great this is what I was looking for although I also found ophcrack my next issue is since their is no cd rom drive in the netbook how do I get it to allow something to be booted up off USB I think if I can figure out how to get the netbook to boot from USB I might be set suggestions?

Slim external usb dvd-romantic can be had for $10 to $30. If what's on it that important to you then it's a small price to pay.

There is a download for the files for a USB install on the programmers website. Click on "BOOTDISK" and scroll down a bit.

Check your netbook BIOS . Mine has option to boot from usb devices .
