Can we relay on RatePoint reviews?

Are they (I mean more than 90%) genuine?

I've seen these abused by obviously shady camera stores.
So no.

Never used them or read much in reviews, but i'm personally not a big fan of making your reputation a "turn-key" solution. Companies that really want to keep a good rep will actively be out there solving customers issues and posting about their company on the various communities.

They can be easily faked just as any other site.

The account holder can selectively pick which reviews to display and even hide the negative ones.

I signed up for it sometime ago and had a Chinese user post negative comments in Chinese language. I had to use Babelfish just to translate it. He/she was not even a client of ours. No idea what that was about. Guessing it was a competitor or something.

Anyway, it was too much hassle to get RatePoint to remove the negative review. In the end they removed it but we cancelled subscription shortly after.

I suppose you can't beat searching Google with phrases like "webhostingtalk companyname review".

Thats what I do. Here is an example search term I would type into Google.

site:webhostingtalk.com company-name review

That way, only results from webhosting talk show up and it's much faster/better than using WHT's built in search function.
