Hi,

I currently operate a small ASP.NET + MySQL website on a dedicated server in my office. XML files are uploaded to the server daily via FTP, and a task scheduled utility in Windows parses the XML data for records and inserts them into the MySQL database. I need to move the website offsite and am now looking for an ASP.NET host. Considering I need to task schedule an executable on the server to run daily in Windows, will this require a VPS? If so, can anyone recommend an ASP.NET VPS host that offers good support? Thanks!

Yes, VPS or dedicated.
My favorite two Windows hosts are EuroVPS and JaguarPC.

If it's an executable you need a VPS.

If you can replace that with an ASP.NET script, I think that would be acceptable for most Windows shared hosts.

yeah i guess , because you get a VPS means a virtual server for your self including a windows server of cousre so i believe that you need a VPS

VPS would be the basic requirement for such purpose. What kind of aspects you expect on the vps?

It's a pretty basic low traffic site, I just need a stable VPS host that supports MySQL5, PHP5, and ASP.NET. Just talked to sales support at JaguarPC today and it looks like their service is exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks for the replies guys!
