I wonder how accurate the results are.

My personal blog is apparently blocking them. I suspect my Bad Behavior plugin is working exactly as designed! But my business domain is screamin' fast.

Prefer gtmetrix.com myself -- though pingdom's new one is decent.
Fairly positive most of them are wielding the same backend.

"Your website is faster than 78% of all tested websites"
Well I guess that's a good thing then! Pretty interesting tool, going to try this with a few more of my sites.

Personally "Pingdom" and "LoadImpact" are not heavily accurate to one another either so I wouldn't trust either of them for accuracy.
I've tested both LoadImpact and Pingdom on many different levels and I can pretty much say I wouldn't trust it's accuracy to the tea well not yet anyways.

Define accuracy, if you could? Both are using different networks and will result in different answers obviously in the same way that different users will load your sites at different speeds based on all kinds of variables.
And just out of curiosity -- why the quotes around Pingdom & Loadimpact?

My points are, you shouldn't rely on an external system to gain accuracy on your results. Some people constantly assume that because you use LoadImpact your results are going to be better than if you were to use Pingdom, and then vice verse and it's sometimes irritating.
I wouldn't trust the accuracy on these especially when you are trying to make comparisons or even to try and make results out of them to simulate you are faster than some other company.

Precisely, use all of the tools for a better idea of how they're going to load. As for the accuracy? Of course they're accurate, maybe I'm missing the point. The services are there to measure the speed at which your site loads & they afford the option of allowing you to do so from multiple locations to get a decent overview of how your site fairs overall.
As for using them to say 'we're faster', the purpose of these tools isn't for someone to turn them into a sales spiel -- they're for site optimization. "Enter a URL to test the load time of that page, analyze it and find bottlenecks".
