Over 40 exotic animals (Lions, Tigers, Cheetahs, Wolves, Bears, etc) escape property

In Ohio, the owner of a large amount of exotic and endangered species was found dead while the cages to -some- (not all) of his animals were opened where these animals escaped the property and are roaming wild. Pretty crazy story.

From what i've gathered from other sources, the guy released some of his animals and then killed himself. But, for some reason, did not release ALL of his animals which included chimps, apes, etc.

Conspiracy theorists will say PETA is behind this, as earlier in the year supposedly a man in Ohio who owned bears was being sued/harassed by PETA, only to be found several months later tied/bound to a bed, masked, and murdered. That's not my opinion, just throwing it out there for the sake of conversation.

Law Officers have already shot and killed over 20 of these animals, most of which are instinct to begin with which makes me feel a tad uneasy. I understand they're concerned about the saftey of their citizens but shooting to kill a semi-tamed endangered species doesn't seem right. On the other hand, how often do you get to go on an African safari hunting trip in little ol' midwest USA?

Someone should call Bob Parsons to come in and get the job done, haha.

EDIT:
NSFW! Photo of a lot of dead animals shot and killed by local area police officers: http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lt...1336o1_500.png

Meanwhile, I wouldn't say no to a full sized bearskin rug to place infront of the fireplace I do not have.

Can't believe no one had anything to say about this. Pretty wild story.

This is actually not too far from me. About 45 minutes away. Pretty scary stuff. There's been quite a bit of public outcry about law enforcement killing the animals. They've done a good job explaining it though and I have to side with them that they had no choice. This happened just before nightfall and when you see 56 animals (bears, lions, etc) heading toward neighborhoods full of people, you can't take chances.

It's really unfortunate that this had to happen and hopefully our laws here in Ohio are made tougher in the next few months. In fact, a law was being worked on, but now it should be sped up.

This makes me feel ill. I don't like seeing lots of dead things at once.

Very interesting though.
