Buying expired domain
Hello everybody,
I wanted to buy a domain long ago (2 years). I was waiting it to be expired. After 1 year. It was expired. But then the owner again renewed it. After the 2nd year owner didn't renew it. Now I find it by searching expired domain.
Now I am not sure whether I can buy this domain. I mean I dont know if its status is purchasable. I am new to this domain buying stuff. So I dont know this well. I see its price is $999. Really big for me. Could anyone tell why its so high price? Is it some kind of broker house who bought it and asking this price? or its the owner? Why the price is so high?
Thanks
(Speaking from a non english speaking country. Pardon me for any foolish mistake)

check when the domain got expaired??
Who.is/whois/keyword.extraction
Domain get deleted and become again available for new registration in 45days of its expiry.
I don't know where you saw the price.
That domain may on any parking page and some selling that or may registered again by a domainer ...
If the domain is registerd again then you can make a offer to its owner.Last edited by mkjmkj; 11-07-2011 at 04:29 AM. Reason: simplify

Checked it.
Code:Status: Locked Name Servers: dns1.name-services.com dns2.name-services.com dns3.name-services.com dns4.name-services.com dns5.name-services.com Creation date: 05 Feb 2000 Expiration date: 05 Feb 2012
Seems, someone has bought it and put it in auction.

Must be a good name if a drop-catcher picked it up.

Its a 2 five letter dictionary word. There is almost a similar name that costs $49. Its expired too. Not this second one is not consisting of dictionary word. But the meaning is same.
Domain names are something like this.
yoursite.com = $999
ursite.com = $49
What is drop-catcher?

Somebody who scours the dropping lists for valuable domains which they then try to catch when they drop. Can also be an auction house like SnapNames or NameJet, who pick up expiring domains to order.
